Flashback Friday (Part 48) - Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood

My family is big on routine.
Tim comes home from work and puts his bag, coat and keys in the exact same spot every night. When we get in his truck to go somewhere like my parents' lake house, he does a verbal checklist that he has all of the necessities, wallet (check), keys (check), blackberry (check), sunglasses (check). Then I chime in, "beautiful wife (check), children (check), two dogs (check). You know, the important things.
On Friday nights, we typically go out to dinner. Living in a beach town, there are many local restaurants that offer great food options and respectable happy hour specials on drinks.
However, Tim only wants to eat at one place: Applebee's®.
The menu has pictures, he knows what he likes and the service is good.
We got there almost every Friday to the point I suggested we go to a different Applebee's so the wait staff didn't recognize us.
Occassionally, I can get him to branch out to a local restaurant that has great wings and oysters on the half shell or another chain restaurant.
Two weeks ago before the beach version of a blizzard, we went to Applebee's® with The Neighbors. Caroline, Baby Ethan and I were at one table butted up against the "kids' table" of Tim, Troy, Alexis and Morgan.
It's Friday. Any guesses where we're going tonight for dinner?

You live on the coast and you go out to eat at Applebees? TIM!!! What the heck. My hubs does the wallet(check), keys(check), phone(check), glasses(check) also.

I've never been to an Applebee's. I just recently went to an Olive Garden!

Our family has this "thing" where we always quote movie lines to each other - we can't not do it! Someone will crack out a line and our whole family is trying to be the first to answer the line back with whatever follows in the movie. Very weird. Very us :D

Hubby and I started a tradition of grabbing a Sonic drink together on Sunday afternoon. Aside from that, nothing around here is the same from day to day. I guess I like it that way. ;)

I have routines but not necessarily as specific as a certain restaurant. Maybe just something like pizza night...
We always go to the same Mexican place, the same Chinese place, etc., but never the same restaurant all the time. We have an Applebee's within walking distance and we've only been there once!
We rotate between a few regular places. On Sundays we always go to Super China Buffet.

I'm such a fan of routines! We actually just started a routine like yours for Friday dinners. My munchkin and I meet Daddy at a local restaurant that has a decent specials & a GREAT kids menu - my daughter eats, drinks and has a dessert for 3.99! Can't beat that. Anyway, that's our routine!
